Postage, Packing & Dispatch Policies
ALL PRICES QUOTED ARE FOR BOTH POSTAGE AND PACKAGING COSTS
POSTAGE POLICY
Wherever possible we send items via a tracked method supplying the purchaser with the tracking number. But, letters and large letters cannot be tracked and we find most customers are not prepared to pay as much, or more than the item value in postage. Therefore, small items are sent at buyers risk unless a tracked option is paid for.
Some bulky but light items, such as knitting yarn and Wadding are marked as heavier than they actually are in order that the automated postage system calculates the correct postage cost. Any error will be refunded if you are overcharged.
Carriers change their prices at different times of year, and at this point the best option company may change for each package weight and size. Therefore we reserve the right to use the lowest cost carrier.
Please note that at this time, all items to UK areas known as Highlands & Islands, inc. Northern Island are sent Royal Mail to avoid extra charges by other carriers.
DISPATCH POLICY
We are very lucky in that we have Royal Mail and Hermes drop off points within 100 metres of our premises. This allows us to avoid pick-up delays & charges. Therefore we offer dispatch on the same day as order receipt, providing payment is received by:
Mid-day for Hermes as there items are usually collected around 2pm Monday to Saturday
3pm for Royal Mail to catch the last post at 5pm Monday to Friday. 10am Saturday as last post is Mid-Day
Orders received after these cut off points are dispatched next working day.
There are no dispatches on Sunday and Bank Holidays. Orders received during these periods will be dispatched on the next working day.
Occasionally, despite our best efforts, stock levels might be inaccurate or items have been added to stock that are still on-route. This may result in a 1-3 day delay in dispatch. Most often we will send these items out first class at our own expense. Any longer than this and you will be contacted to discuss whether you are happy to wait or would prefer a refund.
If receipt date is of importance, or you are having ongoing problems with certain carriers, please feel free to contact us to discuss any issues you might have and discuss cost of an alternative carrier.
